Decades-Long Feud Ends as Mamond Tribes Reconcile in Bajaur

In a significant breakthrough for peace in Bajaur district, two factions of the Mamund Umar Khel tribe, Khadi Khel and Almaze, have ended a 31-year-old enmity rooted in a land dispute that claimed 71 lives and left hundreds injured over the years.

The reconciliation came after persistent efforts by the district administration and the tireless mediation of local elders. 

A formal peace ceremony was held to mark the end of hostilities, attended by the deputy commissioner, members of the provincial assembly, senior civil officials, and representatives from both rival groups.

During the ceremony, members of both factions embraced one another and publicly announced an end to their long-standing conflict. The occasion was celebrated with jubilation across the area, as local communities welcomed the move as a vital step toward lasting peace.

Officials hailed the agreement as a milestone in restoring stability and harmony in the region.
