Protest Erupts in Landi Kotal Over Alleged Drone Strike in Mir Ali Killing Children

A protest was held at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landi Kotal Bazaar, district Khyber, against the recent alleged drone strike in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, which claimed the lives of three children. 

The demonstration was organized by Khyber Olas and saw participation from civil society members, students, youth, and labor leaders.

Prominent figures at the protest included Aftab Shinwari, former president of the Torkham Labour Union Haji Farman Shinwari, Swab Noor Shinwari, Imran Afridi, and Daud Shinwari, president of Landi Kotal Postgraduate College, among others.

The protesters carried banners and placards condemning the incident and calling for peace in the region.

The demonstrators expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of innocent children in the Mir Ali incident, stating that the entire nation mourns their deaths. They demanded justice for the affected families and called for a transparent investigation into the matter.

Speakers also voiced concern over the resurgence of violence in the Pashtun belt and the tribal districts, warning that such developments are deeply alarming. They emphasized that the people of these regions desire peace and stability, and further bloodshed is unacceptable.
