PESHAWAR, August 26: The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Peshawar has distributed scholarships worth more than 1.4 million rupees among 63 underprivileged students.

Vice-Chancellor Ms Razia Sultana told a ceremony that 23,000 rupees each were given to deserving students on merit.

She said the second installment of the scholarship would also be given to them in next year.

Some of the students who got the scholarship told TNN that it would help them continue their studies.

“Such kind of assistance is very helpful to the students in their studies. We have been living in a hostel in Peshawar and our expenses are high. The scholarship amount will solve several problems and we will be able to better concentrate on our education,” said a student.
