PESHAWAR, July 19: A 10-day exhibition of Islamic manuscripts and calligraphy has started at the Peshawar Museum in connection with the holy month of Ramazan.
The Advisor of Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture, Mr Amjad Afridi, inaugurated the exhibition organised the f Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Archaeology and Museums.
Hundreds of precious and rare manuscripts have been displayed at the exhibition. Director Museum Abdul Sammad said the main objective of the event was to aware people about the hundreds of years old Quranic manuscripts.
A visitor told TNN, “I never witnessed such a great exhibition in my life. We have come to know about manuscripts and its historical significance. It’s very important to know about it because the holy Quran came to this world in the holy month of Ramazan.”
“We all read Quran but we don’t know how to recite it properly. These manuscripts teach people many things,” said another visitor.
