JAMRUD, November 18: Ten solar-powered projects have been successfully completed in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency.
TNN correspondent says that Member National Assembly (MNA) from the area, Al-Haj Shahji gul Afridi, and Public Health Engineering Department’s Mr Kamran Afridi inaugurated the solar tube-wells yesterday.
The seven tube-wells and three pressure pumps would supply fresh and clean water to the areas of Ghareeza, Nai Abaadi, Gudar, Jamrud Bazaar Masjid, Minar Kali, Ghandi and Darzikhel areas.
A local resident, Mr Ghuncha Gul, lauded the effort of the government and said the tube-wells would solve their problems to a great extent.
“It has really facilitated us; now we get water at our homes. We no longer need to fetch water from far-off places. We use this water ourselves and also give it to other people in our neighbourhood.”
