MIRANSHAH, September 16: Eleven militants and three Frontier Corps personnel have been killed in a cross-border attack from Afghanistan in the Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, a department that manages public relations for the armed forces of Pakistan, says the militants attacked the Dandi Kach checkpost in Speen Waam area at morning.
The ISPR said the security forces had taken into custody three bodies left behind by the militants and also arrested one of the attackers.
The cross-border incursions have been a routine in Pakistan’s tribal region bordering Afghanistan. So far militants from Afghanistan have attacked areas in Bajaur, Waziristan and other regions of Pakistan and the victims were mostly the armed forces personnel manning various checkposts.
