MARDAN, May 22: Teachers and students are facing problems as the Government Primary School No 1 in Takhtbhai Bazaar, Mardan district, is lacking basic facilities.
Teachers say the school was constructed in 1992 but that till now the government did not install an electricity meter there and there is no cleaning drinking water and washroom facility.
They added that they taught 170 students in just two rooms and that even the mats were not available for students to sit on.
A teacher of the school, Mr Gul Haider, told TNN, “The students are sent home on leave in hot weather as there is no space for them. We request the education minister to include our school in the list of Tameer-e-School programme and provide basic facilities to us.”
