An 18-year-old girl was shot dead in the Speen Qabar area of Khyber district, police said on Monday. According to the authorities, a case has been registered, but the suspect remains at large.

The victim’s father alleged that his son-in-law killed his daughter over suspicion of an illicit relationship. He claimed the accused himself informed him of the murder over the phone.

According to the FIR, the girl was shot around 3 a.m. but remained alive until morning. The father stated that she was shot again later in the morning, which proved fatal.

SP Khyber Rohul Ameen said the police have launched an investigation, and efforts are underway to arrest the suspect.
