According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 21 militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, which Pakistan says is operating with Indian backing, were killed during various clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 3 and 5, 2026.

In an operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan during the night between August 31 and September 1, security forces killed 10 militants. This brought the total number of militants killed while attempting infiltration through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, as well as those eliminated during security operations, to 25.

In another clash in North Waziristan, security forces detected the movement of another group of militants along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. An operation was launched, killing seven militants.

Four more militants were killed in two separate clashes during joint operations in the districts of Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan.

According to ISPR, these incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border once again support Pakistan’s position that the Afghan Taliban government has failed to prevent its territory from being used for cross-border terrorism by a terrorist organization operating under its patronage.

The Afghan Taliban government has also failed to ensure effective border management and fulfill its international obligations in the fight against terrorism.

ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to defending the country’s borders. Clearance operations are ongoing in the area to locate and eliminate other militants operating with alleged Indian backing.

Counterterrorism operations by security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
