HANGU, May 19: Twenty-eight babies fainted after they were immunised against measles in Hangu district.
TNN correspondent says that in Dalan area of Tal tehsil, the health teams immunised children at morning but they had to be rushed to hospital soon after they fell unconscious.
Doctors said immunisation against measles has reaction at times but they did not explain the sudden reaction to a majority of the children at a time.
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a 12-day campaign against measles in the province. About 9.6 million children are expected to be immunised in the drive, for which the provincial government has released 1 billion rupees fund.
