PESHAWAR, November 24: At least 50 people have been killed in a suicide attack during a volleyball match in Afghanistan.
According to the Afghan government, the incident happened in Wilayat Yahyakhel area of Paktika province where a large number of people had gathered to watch a volleyball match between two local teams.
About 60 people have also been injured in the blast. Medics fear that the death toll may increase further.
Anti-government groups have unleashed wave of suicide attacks in Afghanistan this year as foreign troops are expected to pull out form the region after 13 years of war.
Paktika province has presence of the Taliban and lies along the border with Pakistan’s North Waziristan.
