Khyber Police conducted a successful raid on June 18, 2026, after receiving credible information about an alleged case of domestic violence in the jurisdiction of Thana Bara.
During the operation, police recovered a 54-year-old French national, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, who was reportedly being subjected to domestic abuse inside a residential house.
According to initial reports, the woman had married a Pakistani citizen and had been residing in Bara since 2014. The couple has five children, including one child with hearing and speech impairments.

The rescued woman informed police that she had been facing continuous alleged mistreatment by her husband and was not allowed to leave the house freely.
Police safely took the woman into protective custody along with her four children and shifted them to the Women Police Station in Peshawar for further legal protection and proceedings.
The French national has expressed her desire to return to France. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation and legal action are currently underway.
