68 Dead, 117 Injured as Torrential Rains Lash Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Meteorological Department has forecast further rain and thunderstorms in Peshawar and other plains and upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At least 68 people have been killed and 117 injured due to recent torrential rains across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). Since the onset of the monsoon season, incidents of collapsing walls and roofs have claimed the lives of 68 people, including 32 children. In addition, 786 houses have been damaged, with over 200 homes destroyed, while others have sustained partial damage.

The province has been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past four days, bringing pleasant weather to Peshawar, where clouds have hovered for the last two days. Meanwhile, heavy rains were reported in Bannu yesterday, while Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, and Malakand Division also saw significant weather changes due to the downpour.
