According to Rahim Yar Khan police, women had gathered inside a shop in Chak 125-P to receive financial assistance when the roof suddenly collapsed.

Initially, Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar confirmed the deaths of five women, while several others were reported injured. However, the death toll later rose to eight.

According to the Principal of Sheikh Zayed College Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan, 30 injured women were shifted to the hospital following the incident.

The Benazir Income Support Programme has announced financial assistance of 1 million rupees for the families of each deceased woman, while each injured woman will receive 300,000 rupees. These payments are expected to be completed by tomorrow.

Authorities have stated that a transparent investigation into this tragic incident will be conducted. Strict legal action will be taken against the representatives of the concerned partner bank, and full support will be provided to the affected families.
