PESHAWAR, May 3: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has released 40 billion rupees loan to Pakistan.

The Finance Minister, Mr Ishaq Dar, said the bank had approved the loan on 24 April and that the amount would be utilised to tackle energy crisis in the country.

On 2 May, the World Bank also approved loan worth 1,200 billion rupees for Pakistan. The Bank announced to release 100 billion rupees of the total loan by June.
