UPPER KURRAM AGENCY, July 25: Aid worth 60 million rupees has been distributed to the IDPs of Tangi Mangal area of Upper Kurram as per the direction of Governor Sardar Mehtab and federal government.
Administration officials say the Kurram Agency Political Agent, Mr Riaz Mehsud, distributed cheques worth 150,000 each to the families.
One of the beneficiaries, Haji Meera Din, told TNN, “We are thankful for this aid. Besides the cheques, the government has also provided food to us but we request the government to increase the amount of aid as most of our are poor.”
The Tangi Mangal tribespersons had left their area a few years ago due to insecurity but now they are being repatriated to their native villages.
