The All-Pakistan CNG Association organized a protest against the federal government's gas price hikes, resulting in the shutdown of CNG stations across the province.

Protesters led by Provincial Chairman of the All Pakistan CNG Association, Fazal Muqim Khan, gathered on University Road on Wednesday, effectively halting all forms of traffic.

CNG pump owners and workers from various parts of the province actively joined the protest, voicing their opposition to the federal caretaker government's actions and obstructing road traffic.

The demonstrators asserted that the increase in gas tariffs was part of a conspiracy to dismantle the CNG sector, despite the substantial revenue contribution of this sector to the national exchequer.

Muqim Khan stated that their province is a significant gas producer and is self-sufficient. He called upon the federal government to cease its oppressive measures and demanded a reduction in gas tariffs, emphasizing that their protest would continue until their demands were met.

Protesters issued a warning that if gas prices were not immediately lowered, they would escalate their protest efforts.

Upon the administration's request, the association allowed traffic to resume, yet the protestors, who remained on the roadside, made it clear that their sit-in would persist until the price reductions were realized.
