PESHAWAR, July 12: Another patient of Congo virus has passed away at the Hayatabad Medical Complex in the provincial capital Peshawar.
Mr Nawab Ali, a butcher by profession, was admitted to the hospital on 9 July. The hospital management says that right cases of Congo fever have been reported to the Hayatabad Medical Complex during the last three months, including a nurse and orderly of the same health facility. The orderly and two Afghan nationals were among four people who have died so far.
Health officials say the Congo virus is transmitted from animals and humans and from humans to humans too. There are no arrangements for treatment of the disease in most of the hospitals in Peshawar, but only the Hayatabad Medical Complex has an Isolation Ward for such patients.
