ANP Submits Calling Attention Notice On Killing Of Sartaj Khan

PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) has submitted a call of attention notice at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly against the fresh wave of attacks on its leadership and workers in the province.

The resolution was submitted by ANP Parliamentary Leader, Sardar Hussain Babak on Wednesday in KP assembly secretariat seeking the arrest of perpetrators involved in the killing of Sartaj Khan, City District President of ANP.

The calling attention notice demanded the arrest of killers of Sartaj Khan and to bring them in the court of law. The notice also said that it is a matter of grave concern that after a day of Sartaj brutal murder, a local leader of ANP, Abdullah Yousafzai, his son and brother was fired upon by unknown assailants.

The Son and brother of former spokesperson of ANP Swat Abdullah Yousafzai were targeted when they were going back home from after Esha Prayer in masjid near their home. Three persons were reportedly injured and all of them are out of danger.

Babak through his calling attention notice said that people should be provided security and that steps should be taken to stop targeting of ANP workers.

The Awami National Party is once again in protests against another wave of attacks on its leadership in the province. After the attack on Gul Dad Khan in Bajaur, The Peshawar City President of ANP Sartaj Khan was shot dead by unidentified bike riders in Gulbahar area of Peshawar in a targeted attack.

Sartaj Khan was one of the most active young leader of the party who had defeated senior party leader Ghulam Mustafa in the intra-party elections held in April and was an active leader of the Party.

Sartaj Khan was alone in his car when he was targeted on Main Gulbahar road in the broad daylight. Police have recovered two empties from the crime spot and said that further investigation is underway.
