Aimal Wali Khan, the leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), has issued a stern warning, threatening to march to Islamabad if the electricity prices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not reduced.

Khan criticized the current disparity in electricity rates, pointing out that while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is generating cheap electricity, Punjab is receiving a relief of Rs. 14 per unit. He warned that if prices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not lowered within a month, he will lead a protest march to Islamabad and stage a sit-in.

He further questioned the rationale behind reducing electricity prices in provinces where Independent Power Producers (IPPs) are abundant, merely to secure votes, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which doesn't generate even a single megawatt from IPPs, is left to bear the burden.

Khan demanded that the electricity prices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be determined based on the cost of production and urged the federal government to take immediate steps to settle the province's outstanding dues.
