ASI Ilyas Khan Shot Dead in Nowshera; Police Launch Investigation

SHO Jamshed Khattak stated that an investigation is underway, but it is too early to determine whether the attack was an act of terrorism or an attempted robbery. Following the incident, a search operation was launched in the area.

Nowshera: ASI Ilyas Khan was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Kheshgi Road, Nowshera, early Saturday morning. During the attack, his vehicle lost control and plunged into a ditch.

According to police, ASI Ilyas Khan was posted at Nowshera Cantt Police Station and was on his way home on leave when the incident occurred. As he reached near the Army Farm in Nowshera, unknown gunmen opened fire on him.

A bullet struck ASI Ilyas Khan, causing his vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a ditch, leading to his immediate death. Rescue teams and police arrived at the scene shortly after and shifted the body to a nearby hospital.
