PESHAWAR/MARDAN, May 5: Unidentified people blew up five electricity towers in Peshawar, suspending power supply to several areas of the provincial capital and Mardan district.
The PESCO, an electric company working in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said in a statement that 500kv Sheikh Mohammadi gird station in Peshawar was blown up last night. The damage to power line caused 150MW power shortfall to the national grid.
The PESCO said it had sent workers to restore the power supply, adding that the power is currently being supplied through alternate lines.
