GHALANAI: On the Direction of District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rashid, a walk was held in Ghalanai to create awareness regarding the scourge of drugs especially Ice drug among the youth.
The participants marched on the road and chanted slogans against ice drug asking for strict action to control it and stop the young generation from falling prey to it. People in the walk were holding banners in their hands with slogans against drugs.
While addressing the participants Maulana Abdul Haq said that intoxication is forbidden in Islam and therefore people should avoid it and identify all those to the police who are luring the naive youth toward drugs use. The Maulana said that it is the religious duty of every Muslims to raise voice against drug and drug peddlers to help the police root out this menace from society.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Ghalnai Police Station Sardar Hussain told the participants that during the last five months, he has arrested 25 persons accused of selling ice drug within the jurisdiction of his police station. Hussian also asked the masses to support the police to arrest drug peddlers and keep the society clean from this menace.
On the direction of DPO Abdul Rashid, Maulana Abdul Haq, SHO Police Station Ghalanai Headquarters Sardar Hussai, Sub Inspector Amjad Khan, Sub Inspector, Bakht Mohammad, Ghalanai Bazaar shopkeepers and leaders participated in the drug awareness walk in the Ghalanai.
Waziristan
On the direction of Shafiullah Gandhapur district police chief orders North Waziristan, police launched crackdown on drugs. Police party at Shna Khawra stopped a Pamir 125 motorcycle suspected of being NCP. On search, police recovered two bottles of liquor and registered case against Hissab Ullah and Farhan Khan. Both accused were locked in the police station.
In Mir Ali, SHO Dost Ayub recovered 19,340 grams of hashish from NCP vehicle on Khazana check post. A suspect, Zubair Khan, A resident of Chaphari in Mir Ali has been arrested and registered a case against him.
