Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred in a firing incident by motorcycle-riding terrorists in Kurram Garhi, within the limits of Cantt Police Station in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the police, the martyred personnel were busy shopping at a shop when armed assailants on motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire and fled the scene.

The police identified the victims as Havaldar Rukh Niaz and Sepoy Rehmanullah. Both were serving in the FC Daryoba platoon.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers. FC personnel also returned fire.

Police said additional contingents have been dispatched to the site, and a search operation is ongoing while further investigations are underway.

It is worth mentioning that a day earlier, three security personnel were martyred and four people, including a passerby, were injured in a suicide car bombing targeting a security forces convoy in Barmi Khel, within the limits of Domel Police Station on Indus Highway.
