A police constable was martyred in one incident, while security forces foiled a separate overnight militant attack on another police station.

Police said unknown assailants opened fire in the jurisdiction of Havid Police Station, resulting in the martyrdom of constable Ilyas, who was posted with the investigative staff at Saddar Police Station. 

Following the attack, security forces cordoned off the area, launched a search operation, and shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital.

In another incident last night, militants attacked the police station of the Ahmadzai Wazir Sub-Division. According to officials, the attackers used both light and heavy weapons, but timely retaliatory fire by police forced them to retreat.

Residents also stepped out of their homes to support the police during the exchange. No casualties were reported in the second attack, and the search for the suspects remains underway.
