Bannu: Employees of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) and members of the Local Government Employees Federation held a protest meeting at the TMA Bannu Hall, demanding the government address their longstanding issues.
The protest was attended by Provincial President of the Local Government Employees Federation Anwar Kamal Marwat, TMA Employees Union President Nazirullah Awan, General Secretary and Provincial Vice President Hafiz Karim Dad, Divisional President Tariq Khan, Divisional Chairman of the All Pensioner and Labour Union Ghulam Dastgir Khan Sikandari, Wali Ayaz Khan and hundreds of employees.
The protesters demanded that salaries of local government employees be released through Account Four, as is done for other employees, to ensure timely payment.
They also called for immediate implementation of the service structure, saying the prolonged delay had caused serious concern among employees.

The employees demanded the restoration of the non-PUGF examination and resolution of pending issues related to PUGF. They said obstacles affecting promotions and professional matters should be removed so eligible employees could receive their due rights.
The union leaders also called for the reinstatement of 25 WSSB employees, arguing that they were employees of TMA/local government institutions and should be restored to their jobs.
The leaders said local government employees play an important role in providing basic civic services to the public but continue to face problems related to salaries, service structure, promotions and job security.
They warned the provincial government that if their demands were not addressed, they would expand their protest and stage a demonstration outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The union leaders vowed to continue their struggle until their demands were accepted.
