Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that, after prolonged negotiations between the United States and Iran, a peace agreement has been reached.

In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister stated that the official signing ceremony of the agreement will be held in Switzerland on June 19.

He praised the role of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye in facilitating the agreement, adding that both countries have agreed to an immediate and permanent ceasefire. 

Under the deal, military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will be halted.

According to the Prime Minister, the mediating countries will hold further meetings this week to discuss technical matters that need to be resolved before the agreement is implemented.

He also thanked both the United States and Iran for pursuing a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
