Renowned Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has spoken out in defense of the late veteran actress Ayesha Khan’s children, following harsh criticism on social media after her death.

Ayesha Khan, aged 77, was found dead in her apartment in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area last week.

Her body was discovered nearly a week after her passing, prompting widespread outrage and speculation online, particularly targeting her family members for alleged negligence.

Taking to Instagram, Bushra Ansari shared a heartfelt video expressing sorrow over Ayesha Khan’s passing and disappointment at the public’s reaction.

“For the past few days, I’ve been hearing about Aapa Ayesha Khan on the media. Her death saddens me deeply, but I also feel ashamed that we didn’t check on her,” said Bushra.

She condemned the sensationalism surrounding the incident, adding, “I’m surprised at how some people exaggerate stories just to create vlogs. Many of the things being said are simply untrue.”

Bushra Ansari recalled working with Ayesha Khan five years ago and shared that during their conversations, Ayesha had mentioned her children lived abroad.

“She told me her children often asked her to live with them, but she didn’t feel comfortable leaving Karachi. She said they never let her face any financial difficulties and that she was content with her circle of friends here.”

Urging the public to refrain from vilifying Ayesha Khan’s children, Bushra added, “Please don’t accuse her children. Even from beyond, such things would hurt her. Instead, offer prayers for her.”

Ayesha Khan was a celebrated figure in Pakistan’s television industry, with memorable performances in hit dramas like Afshan, Aroosa, Family 93, and Mehndi. She was also the elder sister of actress Khalida Riyasat and had been absent from television for several years before her death.
