JAMRUD, May 9: Residents of Paindi Lalma area in Khyber Agency have asked the government to provide basic facilities at the lone primary school of the area.

Local residents told TNN that there are 800 students enrolled at the school while there are only three rooms and three teachers. The school is not having clean drinking water.

A local elder, Gul Naseeb, told TNN, “The school is overcrowded as there are more than 100 students in each class. There is no electricity and drinking water. Books are not provided to some classes.”

He questioned how three teachers could teach 800 students. “We don’t know why new teachers are not being appointed for the school,” he added.
