KARAK: Students at Government Middle School Mahmood Khel in Dagar Nari Village Council of Karak are facing serious difficulties due to the lack of basic facilities, including drinking water and electricity.

With no proper drinking water facility available at the school, students are forced to bring water bottles from their homes every day. The absence of electricity has also made classrooms difficult to sit in during hot weather, leaving students dependent on hand fans.

The lack of basic facilities is evident in the classrooms, where students can be seen carrying not only books and schoolbags but also water bottles and hand fans.

Students said they have to bring water from home because there is no adequate water supply at the school. They added that the absence of electricity makes it extremely difficult to remain in classrooms during hot weather.

The school’s headmaster said the lack of water and electricity is causing difficulties for students and stressed the need for a solar power system as an alternative source of electricity to provide a better learning environment.

Local residents said they had repeatedly informed elected representatives and the administration about the problems, but the issues remained unresolved.

Parents and residents have urged the provincial government, elected representatives and relevant authorities to install a solar system at Government Middle School Mahmood Khel and provide a hand pump or another suitable source of drinking water.

They said ensuring basic educational facilities for children is  their fundamental right and called for immediate steps to prevent the lack of essential services from affecting their education.
