

BATTAGRAM, July 11: The Child Protection Unit of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government held a meeting to discuss the issue of out of school children in Battagram district.
Officials of the health and education departments and local residents attended the meeting. Provincial master trainer of the Unit, Ms Neelam Yousafzai, asked the participants to identify the children who not enrolled at schools or those kids facing other issues.
“We provide assistance to children in education, health, social, psychological, child or forced labour and other such cases. We register all these cases.”
Another official of the department, Mr Imtiaz Ali Shah, said they were also working on child rights in other areas of the province.
“We are assisting about 143 children in different ways. We support some in their education and health, we have also give wheelchairs to the disabled children.”
