SWAT, May 24: A large number of children fainted after being immunised against measles in Swat district.
TNN correspondent says the injections were given to children in a private school in Rang Mahali area today morning and about 60 children fell unconscious and were said to be in critical condition.
The assistant commissioner of Swat told TNN, “We confirmed that vaccines have not expired but there is some issue, for which we formed an inquiry team who will submit their report in two days. Some children fainted because they were afraid when they saw other children in critical condition.”
Many children lost senses in Kohat yesterday while a number of other babies fainted amid the anti-measles campaign in Hangu five days ago. However, it remains to be seen what causes the children to faint after being immunised.
