KOHAT, July 9: Advisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister on sports and culture, Mr Amjad Khan Afridi, has approved 4 million rupees grant for the lawyer community of Kohat district.

On 8 July, Mr Amjad Afridi told the taking-oath ceremony of the Kohat Bar Association that the fund would be utilised to set up overhead shelters for lawyers, construct a road in the Kachehry (open court), install a water filtration plant and to buy furniture for lawyers.

The lawyers said that hopefully the approval of the fund would solve their problems. “Our major demands were setting up of a judicial complex, high court circuit bench, filtration plant, solving other problems of the open court, separate washrooms for women, and construction of a bar room.”
