PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan is the richest member of KP Assembly, according to the statements of assets of the members of provincial assemblies.
According to details received by the Election Commission of Pakistan, Mehmood Khan is the richest MPA among the members of four provincial assemblies of the country which means he is the wealthiest provincial lawmaker of the country. He owns properties worth Rs2.37 billion along with 35 tolas gold.
Opposition Leader in KP Assembly Akram Durrani owns assets worth over Rs10 million, KP Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani owns assets worth over Rs200 million and Minister for Tourism Atif Khan owns assets worth over Rs10.9 million.
The Awami National Party’s Bahadar Khan has second richest with assets worth Rs882.88 million. He owns properties worth Rs875.50 million and has put the value of just one piece of an agricultural land of unspecified size at Rs410m.
MPAs Muhammad Ishtiaq, Bahadur Khan and Fakhar Jahan own assets worth over Rs200 million, Rs880 million and Rs770.6 million respectively. Fakhar Jahan also owns Rs100 million in cash. Shahram Khan and Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra own assets worth Rs5.2 million and Rs110 million. KP Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohammad Jan owns assets worth over Rs4.4 million. Fazal Hakim Khan owns assets worth Rs528.58 million, Musawar Khan owns assets worth Rs486.30 million and Riaz Khan has assets worth Rs353 million.
Malak Badshah Saleh of the PPP owns assets worth Rs349.5 million.
In Balochistan Assembly, Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani owns assets worth over Rs220m. His spouse is richer than him, owning assets worth Rs300 million. Guaram Bugti, grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti, holds assets worth over Rs700 million.
In Sindh Assembly, former president Asif Ali Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur owns assets worth Rs380 million. She also owns one kilogram gold. Her daughters Fatima and Ayesha Talpur also own assets worth Rs33.1 million and Rs140 million, respectively. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah owns assets worth Rs7.1 million.
Earlier, asset details of Punjab MPAs showed that Aleem Khan of the PTI is the richest MPA, while in the Senate, Azam Khan Swati of the PTI is the richest.
