Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi chaired a meeting of parliamentarians regarding district Peshawar, attended by current and former members of the provincial assembly along with senior leaders from the city.
The session focused on restoring Peshawar’s past stature, accelerating ongoing mega projects, and setting the direction for major development initiatives.
During the meeting, CM Sohail Afridi announced that a grand development session will soon be convened to finalise a Rs100 billion plan for Peshawar.

The upcoming meeting will outline a comprehensive strategy to modernise the city’s infrastructure, improve traffic flow, enhance sanitation, upgrade health and education facilities, and strengthen key urban services.
It was also decided that a major public gathering will take place in Peshawar on December 7, with extensive discussions held on administrative, political, and organisational preparations to ensure the event’s success.
CM Sohail Afridi reiterated that Peshawar is not only the provincial capital but “our face,” adding that its uplift remains a top priority for his government. He stressed that all departments must adopt a coordinated approach to address the city’s critical challenges, ongoing projects, and public needs.
