Protests broke out across the country and different parts of provincial capital against the disqualification of Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s disqualification in toshakhana reference on Friday.

A large number of PTI workers took to the streets soon after the announcement of the verdict, blocking roads and chanting slogans against the government.

In provincial capital, PTI workers blocked Ring Road, Hayatabad, Kabtur Chowk Ring Road, Charsadda Road junction, Nishtarabad, Stadium Chowk in Saddar, Kohati Chowk, Chowngi Chowk and staged sit-ins.

Similarly, in Karak district PTI workers closed the Tangori Chowk and burnt tires. The closure of the Indus Highway also caused massive traffic jams in the area.

PTI workers also staged protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan office and police also arrested several protesters at this occasion. PTI workers also gathered at the Faizabad Chowk and blocked the Murree Road to protest the ECP verdict.

Police also used tear gas to disperse the protesters at Faizabad. Similarly, PTI workers also staged a demonstration in the Barakhau area of Islamabad.

In addition to this, party activist also staged protests in Lahore, Rahimyar Khan and other cities and chanted slogans against the ECP and PMLN.

Similarly, GT Road was closed on at least four places in Gujrat district. In addition to this, GT Road was also closed for traffic by protesters in Shaheen Chowk, Lala Musa, Kharian, Sarai Alamgir with the protesters burning tires.
