In a significant development in the alleged suicide case of a nurse from Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu, a local court has ordered the exhumation of her body and a fresh post-mortem examination to determine the actual cause of death.

According to the court's directive, the exhumation of nurse Ulfat Noor’s grave will take place on June 26, 2025, at 12 PM, followed by a new autopsy.

The court has instructed that the process be carried out under the supervision of an experienced Lady Health Officer from the Women and Children Hospital.

The directive came after the deceased nurse’s family submitted an application, raising concerns over ambiguities in the initial post-mortem report.

They also pointed out that the doctor who conducted the first autopsy was not thoroughly questioned during the preliminary investigation.

Advocate Saifullah, representing the victim’s family, stated, “A fresh medical examination is essential to fulfill the demands of justice and bring the truth to light.”

The court has also directed the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Bannu Division to ensure strict security arrangements during the exhumation process to maintain law and order.

It is worth recalling that the nurse allegedly consumed poisonous tablets to take her own life. She was reportedly being harassed by a hospital employee, and the harassment is believed to have driven her to the tragic act.
