In Khyber's Jamrud Tehsil, a protest sit-in by displaced residents of Tirah at the Bhagyari Check Post has resulted in the complete halt of cement, sand, and other construction materials to Landi Kotal for the past 19 days. As a consequence, hundreds of day laborers have been left jobless.
Workers, sitting idle in the Landi Kotal bazaar, shared that the blockade at the Bhagyari Check Post has caused a shortage of construction materials in the area, leaving them without work for 19 days. They lamented that they were running out of flour and other essential food items, leading them to starvation.

The laborers have called on the authorities and the leaders of the Tirah protest in Jamrud to take practical steps to resolve the issue.
They urged that the matter be settled through negotiations so that the Pak-Afghan highway can be reopened for all traffic. This would alleviate the hardships faced by the public, transporters, traders, and particularly the laborers, allowing them to earn a livelihood for their families.
