MARDAN – A tragic road accident occurred near Babozai Interchange on the Swat Motorway when a speeding car lost control and ran over personnel of the Motorway Police, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to four others.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Nizam-ud-Din, a Motorway Police official, and 1-year-old baby girl Sabahat Ijaz.

The injured include Akbar Ali (50), Shehbaz (35), Abrarullah (35), another Motorway Police official, and a woman resident of Lahore.

Rescue teams said they promptly reached the scene and shifted the bodies and injured persons to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

Initial reports suggest that the speeding vehicle was travelling from Chakdara towards Colonel Sher Khan Interchange when it went out of control near the Kotaling Babozai Interchange and collided with a Motorway Police vehicle deployed on duty.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
