MARDAN – In the early hours of the morning, unidentified assailants opened fire on a police post at Takht Bhai ruins, resulting in the death of one officer and leaving two others critically injured. The attack occurred around 3 AM, and the perpetrators managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident.
Upon receiving the distress call, Rescue 1122 dispatched an ambulance and medical team to the location. The injured officers received initial medical aid on-site before being transported to Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) for further treatment.

The fallen officer has been identified as Umar Nabi. The injured officers, identified as Shabbir and Muhammad Fayyaz, are currently receiving medical care at MMC.
In response to the attack, a heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits.
