PESHAWAR, September 5: Death toll from heavy rains in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab province has reached 66, official sources say.

According to a statement of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority, 52 people died when roofs of buildings collapsed amid heavy rains.

Many roads including the Murree Expressway and Murree-Pindi Road have been blocked due to land sliding while railway tracks have also been damaged.

The disaster management authority said flood has hit Jhelum, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Pasroor areas. Also, a landslide blocked railway track near Dartial.

Meanwhile, 14 people have died and more than 100 houses collapsed in rain related incidents in Muzzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir.

According to the Meteorological Department, the ongoing spell of rains will continue for another two days.
