PESHAWAR, September 4: The death toll from rain and floods reached 30 in various areas of Punjab province.

According to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority, the highest number of deaths, ie 12, took place in Lahore due to electric shocks and roof collapse incidents.

About 18 people died and many injured in roof collapse incidents in Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and other areas. The disaster management authority says that due to heavy rains, floodwater has submerged roads and people are in trouble.

The government of Punjab has announced to provide aid of 500,000 rupees each to the families of the deceased.

The Meteorological Department says that more rainfall is expected in Punjab in the next 4 to 5 days.

Meanwhile, a landslide in Bagh area of Azad Kashmir has left three army personnel dead and as many injured.
