KARAK, August 26: The District Development Committee has approved 1.50 billion rupees for projects in Karak district.

On 25 August, a meeting was held at the office of member provincial assembly Mr Gul Sahib Khan and several senior officials of various departments including Deputy Commissioner Mr Shoaib Jadoon were also present.

The committee chairman, Mr Gul Saib Khan said on the occasion that funds had been allocated for construction of small dams in Karak district, 76 solar tube-wells, 16 basic health units and other projects.

Moreover, 33 middle schools will be upgraded to high schools while 12 high schools will be developed as higher secondary schools. A sports complex will also be constructed in the district.

“Karak is an underdeveloped and neglected area. Hopefully, the funds would be utilised transparently and in a proper way,” said a local resident.
