
GHALLANAI, October 4: Eight people have been killed and 16 injured when a vehicle fell into ravine in Mohmand Agency.
Administration officials say the vehicle was travelling from Shabqadar to Dwezai area when the driver lost control over the steering and it plunged into a gorge in Shati Pindiyali area.
The injured were taken to Ghallanai Headquarter Hospital, wherefrom the serious victims were rushed to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital, which is biggest public sector hospital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Mohmand Agency is one of the agencies in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, created in 1951. Before that, the Mohmand tribes were administered by the deputy commissioner of Peshawar.
However, it was not until 1973 that the headquarters of the agency were moved from Peshawar to Ekkagund. Now the permanent agency headquarters is at Ghallanai.
