A powerful explosion during Friday prayers at Darul Uloom Haqqania’s mosque in Akora Khattak resulted in the deaths of four people, while several others, including JUI-S chief Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, sustained injuries.
According to DPO Nowshera Abdul Rasheed, rescue teams arrived at the scene immediately to assist the wounded.
Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq's son, Thani Haqqani, confirmed that hundreds of worshippers were present in the mosque at the time of the explosion. He stated that initial reports indicate four to five fatalities, with dozens injured.

The Central Police Office in Peshawar reported that the explosion occurred after Friday prayers, and investigations are underway to determine its nature.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi strongly condemned the attack and called for a detailed report. Expressing his concerns, he stated:
"The attack on Jamia Haqqania is a conspiracy by enemies of Islam and Pakistan. The province continues to suffer due to the incompetence and collusion of those in power. It is crucial to rid the region of those harboring terrorists."
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion, while security in the area has been heightened.
