BANNU: A resident of Feroz Fateh Khel has publicly disowned his son, alleging that he became involved in anti-state activities and joined militant elements, as similar declarations by families continue to emerge in the district.
Speaking at a press conference at the Bannu Press Club, Ayub Nawaz Khan announced that he had severed all ties with his son, Azizullah. He said differences had developed between them some time ago, after which Azizullah left home. Initially, the family had no information about his whereabouts, but later learned that he had allegedly joined individuals involved in anti-state activities.
Ayub Nawaz Khan said neither he nor his family had any connection with his son's alleged activities. He added that if Azizullah was involved in any illegal or anti-state acts, law enforcement and security agencies should proceed against him in accordance with the law, and the family had no objection to such action.

He said another of his sons works abroad as a labourer, while Azizullah had also previously worked overseas and was known as a religious and well-behaved young man. According to the father, someone had allegedly misled him onto the wrong path. He claimed Azizullah had been with the group for about a month and no longer listened to his family's appeals.
Appealing to the government and security agencies, Ayub Nawaz Khan urged that the alleged actions of his son should not result in punishment or harassment of innocent family members. He said his family respected the law and did not support any illegal or anti-state activities.
