BARA: In two separate incidents in Bara Tehsil of Khyber district, five people, including four children, lost their lives, while six others sustained injuries.
In the first incident, unidentified assailants opened fire on Haji Naseeb Afridi, a tribal elder of the Sipah clan, in Bara Bazaar, killing him on the spot.
According to eyewitnesses, Haji Naseeb Afridi was sitting inside a shop when armed men stormed in and shot him multiple times. Bystanders rushed him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.

In the second incident, strong winds caused a wall of a hujra (guesthouse) to collapse in the Charsiyan area, belonging to the Mada Khel sub-clan of the Aka Khel tribe. The falling debris buried several children, resulting in the deaths of four and injuries to six others.
Residents immediately launched a rescue effort, retrieving the bodies and pulling out the injured from the rubble. The wounded were shifted to a hospital, where some were reported to be in critical condition.
Authorities are investigating both incidents, while the community mourns the tragic losses.
