In Bannu’s Domel area, five militants belonging to the Fitna al-Khawarij were killed and several others were injured during a joint operation by police and security forces in Sidroon, Akbar Ali Khan Kala and adjoining areas.

According to police, an intelligence-based operation was conducted following information about the presence of militants. The operation was led by Bannu District Police Officer Captain (retd.) Muhammad Furqan Bilal.

During the operation, police and security forces cordoned off the area and used drone technology to target the militants.

Police said the injured militants were taken away by their accomplices into bushes and difficult-to-access areas.

A search and clearance operation is ongoing in the area against possible militant hideouts and movements. Police said further details would be released after the operation is completed.
