BARA, September 29: A bomb explosion left five militants dead in Khyber Agency.
Administration officials say the explosion took place in Rajgal area of Tirah valley in a hideout of militants, where five were killed.
There was no word about anyone having been injured in the blast. The report could not be verified independently because the media teams are not allowed to the region where the military has launched operation against militants.
The Khyber Agency has been home to militants affiliated with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and tribal militia Lashkar-e-Islam. Though Pakistan’s military has carried out actions in the agency, Taliban fighters still inhabit border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan shares a very long border with Afghanistan and it is difficult for the army to monitor all the border area, which also has towering hills.
