DIR, May 20: Four people including three children were injured when lightning struck a house in Upper Dir district, TNN correspondent says.
The lightning struck the house of one Qadir Khan, injuring his son Qadir Zada, 10-year old Suleman and two other children. It also damaged the building of the house. The victims, who suffered burn injuries, were rushed to the Timergara hospital in Lower Dir district.
A resident, Abdullah, told TNN, “The sound of the lightning was so loud that five women in the village fell unconscious.”
Upper Dir district, which borders Chitral valley, is home to cloud-piercing mountains and it witnesses rain and snowfall quite frequently.
